Inclusive Skating has been recognised by the ISU.             All ISU eligible skaters and officials are welcome to take part in Inclusive Skating events and join the Inclusive Skating Community.

The Inclusive Skating Championships, Glasgow 2019, appears on the ISU Calendar for the first time!

And, other future events will be approved too.

Murron’s story: Murron was invited to another skaters birthday party. She didn’t know what to do as she had never been invited to a party before. In the car on the way home she said “I have got friends”. She had the biggest smile on her face when she said this. She then said, “On the ice I feel like a bird who has been let out it’s cage”

Inclusive Skating is delighted to announce that Phil Harris has joined the ranks of Torvill and Dean. All have agreed to become Inclusive Skating Ambassadors. The legendary duo of Torvill and Dean are  back on as Dancing on Ice as judges and are considered by many to be the greatest ice dancers of all time. Margarita Sweeney-Baird, the Founder and Chair of Inclusive Skating was a finalist in the Scottish Charity Awards in the Terrific Trustee Category.

Glasgow 2017

Glasgow 2017 took place as planned from April 11th to 14th 2017. Over 50 skaters took part and the results were calculated using the world ranking system.  The new Synchro group and team and free dance events were very popular.

This is  planned for  April 11th to 14th 2017 at Braehead, Glasgow.  The event will include the British Inclusive Skating Championships, the first IS for Genes National Championships and the first pilot World championship. Inclusive Skating Technical Handbook 2018 3rd ed. with index and speed replaces Technical Handbook IS 2017  (2nd. Ed.). The Technical Handbook contains all available events and rules. The  Classification Handbook 4th edition  is also available and provides guidance on impairment compensation and classification.
